A Trip To Watch The Blues

A boys night out a couple of weeks ago to Cardiff City's new Stadium and also new home of the Blues to watch Cardiff Blues v Glasgow Warriors. A great time was had, even though I still think there should be a goalie between the posts and there seemed to be rather a lot of handballs!!!!! Unfortunately for the Blues though, there miserable start to the season continued with yet another loss although this time it could not be totally unexpected since the visitors did come from the rugby world power house north of the border. Could it be that this is the rebirth of Scottish rugby.
P.S mummy was not happy at the result

The Giant Goes Skinny

In an effort to reduce rolling resistance the Giant has gone skinny with 1.50 tyres on the rear and 1.75 (courtesy) of granpops on the front. Whilst this has undoutably speeded the daily journey of daddy to work I think the giant is missing its off road workout that granpops used to provide, albeit he usually ended up on his bottom somewhere down the trail.

The Falkirk Wheel, a wonder of Scottish engineering (the modern equivalent of canal locks)

Me and Granpops at the bumps

Softplay at Linlithco

Well, can you believe it. Its nearly the end of my second school summer hols and where has the time gone?? (or as my dad would say "thank goodness we are nearly there).
The highlight of the hols so far was the trip to see granpops and granma in Scotland, both of who were in fine fetal.
Apart from the car journey, 8 hrs of hell interrupted by the odd "are we there yet?" all went well.
Above are a few pics

One Sunny Sumer Day

Look out Andy Murray, theres a Duncan on the block. No pics this week, however my 'Sports Star of the Year' certificate is winging its way to me as I type so once it arrives it will be proudly displayed for the whole world to see on here.

On another note, we went for a bike ride on Sunday, found another park to play in plus a quick pit stop at McDonalds half way there to reinvigour our cycling. Back then by the Glamorgan Canal (whats left of it) with pics to follow. Another quick pit stop at the old house in Danescourt next door neighbour, juice for me and Logan and a beer for the Old Man before we finished our jouney.

The cycling computer

Well blog fans, here it is at last if a bit grainy and upside down

On another note, and not to be outdone by granpops 'toad!', below is my favourite climbing tree which is looking particularly attractive at the moment. Perhaps someone could identify it type for me. One clue is it can be a bit prickly to climb.

A trip to the Ramps

A trip to the "ramps" is always viewed with excitement particularly now that with Logan fully mobile we can actually cycle there as opposed to travel in the car with the bikes in the back. For those with a nervous disposition you may wish to avoid looking at the following pictures.

On our way

Me at the bottom, intact!

On our way home all in one piece

Looking for God

A pic from Granpops recent visit when he took us to the light house ship in Cardiff Bay. Perhaps he has seen the light or more likely had one to many bumps on his head in Glen Tress (the silly old bugger)
You may also be intersted to know that I am now the proud owner of a 9 function cycle computer (picture to follow in due course) and I have racked up 3.4m and a max spped of 12mph. The downside to this however is that my crash ratio has increase significantly as i now spend all my time looking at the bloody thing instead of where I should be going. My dads words not mine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I Am Back

After some head scratching to try and remember what my password and email, I am back. Easter hols were great and granpops and granma came to visit. It has also been a week to rember with young logan finding life without stabilisers a breeze, so much so that after a few cycles to Heath Park to get his eye in, we ventured out to Roath Park (4miles) and then Haley Park (7.8miles) the folowing day. Note the common theme of Parks which just happen to have swings and slides.
